Curamen,
Maui Community College Joseph Jeffrey Curamen is a student at Maui Community College pursuing an A.S degree from the Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology program. He is planning to transfer to the University of Illinois majoring in Electrical Engineering because he is amazed at how electronics work and robotics. Joseph is hoping to work in a R&D company when he finishes his degree. He grew up in Philippines and came to Maui almost 4 years ago. Joseph hobbies are playing basketball, computer games, being with friends, and listening to music. (Top) |
John Fujita, University of Hawaii, Manoa
John Fujita is in his fourth year at the University of Hawaii, Manoa and will be receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology in the fall of 2005. He is planning to apply to John A. Burns School of Medicine to pursue an M.D. Some of his hobbies are basketball, cards, video games, and surfing. (Top) |
Brenton Kimoto, Maui Community
College Brenton Kimoto is currently majoring in Electronics Computer Engineering Technology at Maui Community College. He hopes to someday work in the computer Tech field. Brenton loves computers and spends a lot of time on them. (Top) |
Daniella-Dawn Manansala, Kauai Community
College
Daniella-Dawn Manansala was born in Hawaii on the island of Kauai. Shortly after hurricane Iniki she moved to California where she attended school until her junior year in high school. Daniella moved back to Kauai in 2000 and is currently attending Kauai Community College. She will be graduating in May with an Associates Degree in Applies Science in Electronics. In August she will start a job as an electronic technician at PMRF. She also would like to go to UH at Manoa, enroll in the Electrical Engineering program, get her Bachelors Degree and work as a Marine Tech/Engineer at Port Allen on Kauai. Daniella enjoys spending time with her 17-month-old son, watching movies and anime, working on cars and reading a good book. (Top) |
Mark Mizubayashi,
San Francisco State University
Mark Akio Mizubayashi is a student at San Francisco State University pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. Before transferring to San Francisco State University, he obtained an A.A. degree from Maui Community College. Mark is was born and raised on the island of Maui, he has lived in the central part of Maui before finally moving to San Francisco State University to complete his education. He hopes to be able to eventually move back to Maui and to be able to help the people of Hawaii. (Top) |
Keith Molina, Massachusetts
Institute of Technology
Keith Molina is currently enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a candidate for a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Mechanical Engineering for June of 2008. Born and raised on Maui, Keith graduated from Lahainaluna High School where he played varsity football and soccer and was awarded the valedictorian's medal for his outstanding academic achievements. Upon finishing his degree at MIT, Keith hopes to start his career in the engineering field and, if possible, come back to live and work on Maui. In his spare time Keith likes to play his ukulele, participate in various sports, go to the beach, and hang out with friends. (Top) |

School of Mines
Ryan Nora graduated from Kealakehe High School in 2004 on the Big Island and is now a sophomore at Colorado School of Mines. He plans on majoring in Engineering Physics and then going on to graduate school for his PhD. Ryan likes to snowboard, mountain bike, and play guitar. (Top) |
Jonathan
Olsten,
Purdue University
Jonathan Olsten was born and raised on Maui until, at the age of 12, he left home to become a boarding student on the Kapalama campus of Kamehameha Schools for grades 7-12. Proficient in math and sciences, Jon became an active member of the school's Competetive Math Team and Physics Club. He was on the Wrestling Team and the Sailing Team and also enjoyed learning leadership skills in the school's ROTC Program. Jon just completed his Freshman year at Purdue University where he is enrolled in the College of Engineering. He will be returning to Purdue in the Fall to pursue a major in Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineering. (Top) |
Victoria
Sensano, Maui Community College
Victoria Sensano was born and raised in beautiful Maui, Hawaii. She graduated from Lahainaluna High School with Honors and then received a Certificate of Achievement and Associates degree in Computer Software Engineering from Portland Community College. Victoria is currently a second year Electronics and Computer Engineering student at Maui Community College. Vicky completed her Akamai internship at the Maui Scientific Research Center. The following summer, as a result of her Akamai Internship, she accepted a part time position as a telescope operator technician at Oceanit. In the future, Vicky would like to complete her Masters degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering and/or Earth and Space Science. She would like to continue to work with telescopes or satellites and be involved in space science research and technology. (Top) |
Jeremy Steel, Cuesta
College
Jeremy Steel was raised in Hawaii and graduated from Baldwin High School in Maui. He worked two summers as an Akamai intern first at Northrup Grumman in 2004 then in 2005 at Oceanit. After attending Maui Community College, he moved to San Luis Obispo, California where he attends Cuesta Community College. He will transfer to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall and pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. (Top) |
